Our Story

SoCal Hearing West Valley is owned and operated by Dr. Jonathan Leiterman, Sc.D. Dr. Leiterman opened the practice to provide comprehensive hearing care to people in the West Valley through innovate solutions and sophisticated testing procedures. He came to the field of audiology because of his close friendships with people who had hearing loss and were a part of the Deaf community.

Jonathan Leiterman at So Cal Hearing

Dr. Jonathan Leiterman, Sc.D.

Owner | Audiologist

Dr. Leiterman is a licensed audiologist practicing in Tarzana who is committed to helping his patients achieve healthy hearing. He has a sincere passion for hearing care with an enduring desire to treat communication disorders and support individuals through innovative and effective hearing solutions.

Dr. Leiterman listens intently and respects the needs of his patients so as to tailor his treatment to suit their specific requirements.

Linda S. Kissane, Au.D., CCC-A

Linda S. Kissane, Au.D., CCC-A

Clinical Audiologist

Dr. Linda Kissane has been a licensed audiologist and hearing aid dispenser since 1997. She has worked in a variety of settings from hospitals to major hearing aid dispensing companies to private practices. She has both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Communicative Disorders with an emphasis in Audiology from California State University, Northridge, as well as her doctoral degree in Audiology from A.T. Still University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology.

Before joining the SoCal Hearing team, Dr. Kissane worked at a pediatric ENT office since 2006. She has experience in diagnostic testing, intraoperative monitoring, and neuromuscular retraining. Her primary specialty is in pediatric diagnostics. Dr. Kissane was inspired to become an audiologist by her sister, who is also an audiologist. Now, she loves being able to help people of all ages with their hearing. She loves working with kids and is always ready for a challenge.

Dr. Kissane loves being active: walking, hiking, or doing Pilates. She also has a passion for volunteering with various animal rescues. Her husband and her recently bought an RV and now go camping with their cat, Sam. She has three (adult) boys who she loves spending time with.

Andrew Nixon, Au.D., CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Andrew Nixon has been working with hearing aid technology since 2005. He has seen the advancements made from old analog hearing aids all the way to the newest devices trained with artificial intelligence. He is a certified through the American Speech Hearing Association and holds his Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology as well. He has worked in a variety of settings including private audiology clinics and ENTs.

Dr. Nixon came into the field of audiology because of an injury that ruptured his eardrum when he was in high school. He could only hear out of one ear and realized how much he valued his hearing ability. He did have surgery that rebuilt his eardrum but he has always recognized the importance of hearing health ever since. Now, he enjoys working with all the unique people he gets to meet in Los Angeles every day. From providing hearing tests to hearing aids and balance assessments, he is experienced any every aspect of audiology.

Dr. Nixon never stops learning. He loves reading, watching history videos, cooking, and listening to music. He believes the world will see big changes in the next 10 years and asks if you will be ready for them.

Troy Scanlon, Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Troy Scanlon is a licensed, dispensing Audiologist providing high-quality hearing care. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Bloomsburg University, PA, as well as his Doctor of Audiology degree form Salus University and has been in practice for several years.

Dr. Scanlon has worked in a variety of settings from the VA hospital to ENT offices to private practice. He has experience working with pediatrics to geriatric populations, and during his clinical rotations he had the unique opportunity to practice audiology in India. He originally became interested in the audiology field because of a friend of his who is deaf and wears a cochlear implant. Now, he enjoys making a difference in patient’s lives and helping them reconnect with their surroundings and improve their overall quality of life.

Dr. Scanlon enjoys traveling, exploring the food and brewery scene in Los Angeles, going to the gym, and attending live music concerts.
